My name is Mrs. Young and I am thrilled to be your English Language Arts teacher. Reading, writing, and language have always been my passions. I am part Italian and started speaking Italian when I was in middle school then spent 2 years of high school in Italy.

Since then I have earned a double degree study in Adolescent Psychology and Applied Linguistics with a certification in Teaching English as a Second Language. Before I came to middle school, I was an adult educator for English Language and worked with children and teens with autism as an ABA therapist. I completed my Master's in Secondary Education and started teaching middle school as a way to bring my two previous careers together.

I plan to read a plethora of novels and short stories with my students this year and ignite their love for language as well!
