Test & Quizzes

Students will have vocabulary and content quizzes throughout the year. These assessments allow teachers to view the mastery levels of the student. Please be advised that each week, students will have a quiz on vocabulary terms or content (what is currently being read in class).

Listed below are the top three tests that we prepare for. Click on the logos to go to the log in pages and have your student go over the website with you.

Evaluate

Evaluate is a district program that allows students to practice standardized testing. This program is valuable because it relates to what standards they are learning in school and how they are performing. Students have their own ID to log in at any time, they may review questions that they have missed and also look at the "Strand Wheel". The strand wheel is based off of colors that relate to the percentages from the test. We highly recommend that parents view these standards with their student to have a better outlook of the child's academic performance.

Achieve 3000

Achieve 3000 program is based on students to practice reading comprehension. This is a great tool to monitor students and their lexile (reading level). Students can learn to highlight important information, use the RACE strategy, and take quizzes that pertain to the articles used on Achieve. Throughout the use of this program students must receive a quiz score of 75% or higher and highlight information in the article to accumulate points. For 7th graders, students must accumulate 70 points to bump up a reading level. It is highly advised that parents have students work on this program at home.

SBAC Testing

Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) is a state test which Brinley Middle School is mandated to have all student population take. Teachers and students work all year to learn and prepare for this exam. It is rigorous and difficult, but it indicates where are students academically performing. Visit the website to get more information on what to expect and how to have your student fully prepared for this exam.
