There is not enough space for socializing, but there is always room for discussions! During the lesson, one of the most important aspects of teaching is allowing students to talk to one another. Although we want students to be able to socialize, we make sure that the students are specifically discussing the topics associated with the lessons. Teachers can not teach everything, but students can learn from their peers. Partnerships are built up early in first quarter and practiced throughout the year. Highly structured sentence stems and bookmarks are used to help students feel comfortable to any one and every one in the classroom at any time.
